Channel Glass Balustrade Systems — Manchester Balustrades installation

Photography shows genuine Manchester Balustrades installations.

One continuous line of glass.

A channel system grips the glass along its full length in an aluminium profile fixed to the floor slab, the face of a structure or set into the finished surface. With no posts or spigots, it gives the most uninterrupted outlook of any balustrade system and suits terraces, balconies and internal edges alike.

Resolve the detail before manufacture.

Channel profile, fixing method and glass build-up are chosen against the substrate and the loading the edge must carry. Where the design calls for it we coordinate top tracks or handrails, recessed channels flush with the floor finish, and drainage details on external terraces.

  • Top-fix, side-fix and recessed channel options.
  • Laminated toughened safety glass sized to the required loading.
  • Optional top tracks or handrails where the design requires them.
  • Survey, supply and professional installation as one coordinated service.

Where it works.

Terraces, balconies, roof terraces, mezzanines and internal edges where the view matters most.

A FEW PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Before you get started.

Can the channel be hidden?

Often, yes. A recessed channel can sit below the finished floor level so only the glass is visible, provided this is planned before the floor finish is laid.

Does a channel system need a handrail?

That depends on the glass specification and the use of the space. We confirm the requirement at survey and design stage.
