A roof terrace overlooking the Mere Golf Club, Knutsford

The design brief.

Guard the open edge of the roof terrace without interrupting the view across the golf course, while working around the walk-on roof light and keeping the terrace drainage and finishes clear.

A coordinated approach.

Frameless laminated safety-glass panels are fixed along the terrace edge with a slim handrail, with the fixing detail coordinated around the walk-on roof light and the parapet. Panel joints and glass lines were set out to keep the view open from every part of the terrace.
