The design brief.
An open first-floor mezzanine overlooking the living space below needed compliant guarding that would not interrupt the vaulted volume, the rooflights above or the views through the round window.
A coordinated approach.
Frameless laminated safety-glass panels run around the mezzanine edge from a slim base channel, with joints kept to a minimum so the glass reads as one continuous line. The clear guarding preserves sightlines through the double-height space, from the rooflights down to the garden doors below.
- Frameless laminated safety-glass mezzanine balustrade
- Slim base channel detail around the vaulted opening
- Clear glass preserving rooflight daylight and garden views
